Falcons tied for ninth entering final day at MW Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Isaac Layne and sophomore Christopher Park each shot 72 on the second day of the Mountain West Championships, Saturday, April 29, at the OMNI National Course in Tucson, Ariz.
Layne is tied for 17th overall with a 141 (-3) after 36 holes. Layne birdied the first two holes and made five birdies on the day. Sophomore Cameron Kahle, who shot 70 on the opening day, is at 146 after two rounds and it tied for 35th. Park made six birdies in round two and sits at 148 while freshman Alvaro Fonseca is at 151 and freshman Brooks Morrell is at 158.
In the second round, Air Force shot a 294, its third best round of the season and is at 584 and tied with Nevada for ninth place heading into the final day.
San Diego State leads the field with a 544 (-32). New Mexico is second (553), followed by UNLV (555) and Colorado State (557).
The final round of the MW Championships is on Sunday, April 30, with tee times beginning at 7 am MST.
