Emmanuel Michel named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

Senior fullback Emmanuel Michel was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Air Force's 39-21 win over Utah State last Friday. The award is the first of Michel's career.

He rushed for a season-high 106 yards, the second-most by a Falcon this season, and recorded career highs of 28 carries and three rushing touchdowns. His 28 carries and three rushing touchdowns are the most by a Falcon this season. Michel gave Air Force the lead for good with his first rushing touchdown and scored a two-point conversion after that touchdown to give the team an 8-0 lead. He added his second touchdown late in the first quarter to put the Falcons up, 29-0, and closed the Air Force scoring with his third touchdown to put the game out of reach, 39-7, with 8:45 to play in the third quarter. Nine of his carries went for first downs or touchdowns and on Air Force's final drive to run out the clock, which was a 13-play, 59-yard drive that took 8:43 off the clock, he had three carries for first downs and carried the ball eight straight times.
