Air Force Men’s Tennis Opens Day One Hosting ITA Bedford Cup

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis opened day one play at the 2023 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains this Friday, Sept. 22, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts.
Air Force picked up three doubles wins and nine singles wins on the day.
In doubles play, sophomore Phillip Deaton and junior Kyle Garner went 2-0 to make quarterfinals play Saturday. The duo defeated Zhang/Bittner of Montana 6-4 and three-seed Sriniketh/Papajcik of Denver 7-6 (7-5).
In singles play, freshman Michael Choi, sophomore AJ Moore and junior Luke Wolf advanced in their singles brackets.
In the B-Raptor Draw, Moore opened with a win over Raffaello Papajcik of Denver 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. He then won his quarterfinal match over second-seed Zach Fuchs of BYU 6-2, 7-5.
Choi opened with a 2-0 mark in the C-Falcon draw. Choi defeated Charlie Cowan of Montana State 6-1, 6-0 and then followed with a win over second-seed Teague Burger of Boise State 6-7 (7-5), 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.
Wolf opened the D-Eagle draw with a Josh Watkins of Montana 7-5, 6-3. Wolf advanced to the semifinals as his opponent in the quarterfinals withdrew due to injury.
Day two action resumes tomorrow beginning at 9 am.
