
Falcons head to Provo for tri-meet

After both the men's and women's swimming and diving programs successfully defended the Cadet Natatorium against Colorado School of Mines, both teams will take to the road to compete at the BYU Tri-Meet versus the host school as well as Colorado Mesa. The meet will begin Friday, January 19 at 5:00 pm MT, while the second day of action begins Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 am MT.
Last Time Out (Women)
-Jumping right back into the pool after Air Force's January 12 meet at Northern Colorado, the Falcons shook off the dual loss to best Colorado School of Mines 168.00-92.00 at Cadet Natatorium.
-The 200 Medley Relay team of Anna Ashley, Naomi Furman, Allana Clarke, and Abby Turner opened the morning meet with a top time of 1:45.20.
-Clarke would later swim to a win in the 100 Butterfly after clocking in at 57.14, while Turner claimed victory in the 50 Freestyle (24.33) and 100 Freestyle (52.34).
-C4C Jessica Smith notched her second win of the season in the 1000 Freestyle, pacing the field after posting an 11:01.00. Lauren Arnold finished just behind the freshman with her own time of 11:03.44.
-Another freshman, Ryan Mills, tallied her first 200 Freestyle win, closing the race with a 1:55.21.
-Kai-Min Tsuei (57.91), Ella Martin (58.43), and Anna Ashley (59.12) swept the 100 Backstroke, finishing in the top three positions.
-In just her second appearance of the season, Corinne Yorkman picked up her first win of her senior year in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:09.02.
-Mandy Fleetwood was the victor in the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.50) while also managing a second place standing in the 100 Breaststroke (1:05.38).
-In the 500 Freestyle, Katie Andrist added her second event win of her sophomore season, posting a winning time of 5:21.16.
-Air Force concluded the afternoon with a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay, as freshmen team of Ryan Mills, Audrey Laganelli, Kirsten Lee, and Catherine Dean swam to a time of 3:31.27, clearing the next team by a comfortable nine seconds.

-Air Force opened the new calendar with a win over Colorado School of Mines, as the Falcons outpaced the Orediggers to the tune of a 164.00-98.00
-The Falcons began the afternoon with the 200 Medley Relay, as the team of Joseph Moore, Tommy Nagle, James Winterfield, and Chase Dwornicki managed a winning time of 1:32.86.
-In addition to the relay victory, Winterfield also swam to a win the 200 Freestyle (1:41.79) and the 100 Butterfly (50.63). His 100 Butterfly time this afternoon now stands as his best of the season.
-Dwornicki had a heck of a day as well, winning both the 50 Freestyle (21.29) and 100 Freestyle (46.89). His time in the latter event was the fastest of his freshman season.
-Bridon Rosales (57.21), Mack Nuval (57.61), and Anthony Sebastian (57.72) finished 1-2-3 in the 100 Breaststroke. Later in the day, the 200 Breaststroke saw Sebastian earn the race's quickest time (2:07.54), while Rosales placed second after his 2:11.08.
-Kellen Russell laid claim to a win in the 200 Butterfly, notching a time of 1:56.61. Daniel Detjen swam to a second place standing following his 1:57.19.
-Louie Body continued Air Force's winning ways, recording the top time in the 200 Backstroke with a 1:54.40.
-In the final individual event, Camden Swigart took top standing in the 200 IM, winning the race with a 1:56.08.
