Air Force Falls at No. 11 South Dakota State, 32-9

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State outscored Air Force, 32-9, Friday evening in Big 12 dual action. The 11^th ranked Jackrabbits improve to 9-2 with a 3-0 record in the conference. The Falcons dropped their fifth dual meet this season.

The Falcons had success in two weight classes from seniors #14 Giano Petrucelli and #2 Wyatt Hendrickson. Petrucelli raced out to an early takedown and dominated positions from there, blanking Tanner Cook, 5-0. Hendrickson notched his 12^th pin this season, falling Luke Rasmussen in 2:01. Hendrickson is now 15-0 on the campaign.

Despite losses in the other weight classes, the Falcons showed heart and fight. Tucker Owens, a 2022 NCAA qualifier, had impressive start against No.18 Tanner Jordan. Owens scored the first takedown with a snappy level change to double-leg takedown. Jordan was able to reclaim the lead in the second period and hold off an aggressive Owens through the third to finalize at 5-3.

Sophomore 133-pounder Brenden Barnes narrowly lost to #17 Logan Graf, 4-3, riding the Jackrabbit out for the entirety of the third period. Senior Garrett Kuchan scored the first two takedowns against two-time All-American #25 Clay Carlson. Carlson rallied and ultimately took the 10-7 decision win.
