
Liveringhouse leads Falcons on final day at CU Invitational

U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. – Junior Eric Liveringhouse led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the 14th annual Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo.
The native of Stillwater, Minn., led the Falcons with a collegiate career-best round of 69 (-3). Liveringhouse made six birdies on the final day, including a birdie on three of the four par 3's. The 69 is the second best round by a Falcon this season and the best on the road.
Sophomore Eli Huntington made four birdies in his final round of 71 (-1). He was the top Falcon over the 54-hole tournament, tying for 36th of 104 golfers with a 214 (72-71-71). Huntington has five straight rounds at par or better dating back to the first round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sept. 21.
Liveringhouse finished the tournament with a 221 (+5), his best 54-hole score in a team-scoring event. Ted Davenport shot 75 on the final day and also finished at 221 (+5), his best score in a team-scoring event. Alvaro Fonseca finished at 225 and Brooks Morrell shot 230. Sophomore Carson Baker, competing as an individual, shot 238.
Air Force shot a 290 (+2) in the final round, the best road round of the season and tied as the second best round anywhere this season. The Falcons placed 16th with a three-round team score of 876 (+12). The 876 is the best score of the season as the Falcons have posted five straight rounds of 294 or better.
Colorado State won the tournament with an 828 (-36). The host school, Colorado, was second at 831 (-33) followed by Wyoming with an 834.
Air Force returns to action, Oct. 13-15, as the Falcons face Army and Navy in the second annual Commander-in-Chief's Cup at the Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla.
