Air Force Football meets with local media

Air Force Head Coach Troy Calhoun, along with seniors Alex Moore (OL) and Camby Goff (DB) talked with members of the local media to discuss the Army game. Air Force travels to West Point, N.Y., to take on Army Saturday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. MT in Michie Stadium.
The 2024 season marks the 53rd year of Commander-in-Chief's trophy competition. The trophy goes annually to the winning academy with the best record in the round-robin competition. The winning team goes to the White House to receive the trophy from the President of the United States. Air Force has a series-best 66-39 record and has won 21 trophy titles, the most in the series. The Falcons are 0-1 this season following a 34-7 loss at home to Navy.
Air Force leads the overall series vs. Army, 38-19-1. The Falcons are 22-4 at home, 14-12 at Army and 2-3-1 in neutral site games. Air Force is 35-17 in Commander-in-Chief's Trophy games vs. Army dating back to 1972. The Falcons are 21-3 at home, 13-12 at Army and 1-2 in neutral site CIC games.
Army defeated Air Force, 23-3, at Empower Field at Mile High last season. The Black Knights scored on their opening possession when Bryson Daily scored on a 62-yard run to make it 7-0. After stopping Air Force on fourth-and-one on its own 34, Army added a field goal to make it 10-0. Daily added a second touchdown run to extend the lead to 17-0 at the end of the first quarter. Army made it 20-0 with another field goal, before Matthew Dapore got the Falcons on the board with a 30-yard field goal. Army added its third field goal to make it 23-3 at the half. The teams played a scoreless second half. Army finished with 253 total yards, including 170 yards rushing by Daily. The Falcons gained 259 total yards, including 155 rushing. Air Force had six turnovers, four fumbles and two interceptions, along with being stopped on fourth down twice. Zac Larrier led the team with 45 yards rushing and hit 9-22 passes for 93 yards. Jayden Goodwin led the defense with a career-best 12 tackles. Bo Richter added a career-best 10 stops.

The Black Knights opened the scoring with a field goal from Quinn Maretzki to take a 3-0 lead, which stood up until halftime, as the Falcons missed a pair of short field goal attempts. The Falcons took the lead late in the third quarter when Haaziq Daniels hit Kyle Patterson with a 10-yard touchdown pass to give Air Force a 7-3 lead. Army scored on a Jakobi Buchanan one yard run with 1:13 left in the game to take a 10-7 lead. The Black Knights secured the win with an interception on Air Force's next drive on a tipped pass. Army finished with 290 total yards and had an advantage in plays, 73-40, and time of possession, 37:26 to 22:34. Air Force finished with 261 total yards. Brad Roberts rushed for 83 yards to lead the team. Daniels added 61 yards. Will Trawick led the defense with a career-high 14 tackles to lead six Falcons with double figures in tackles.
