The Falcons open the 2024-25 season hosting Denver, Colorado State, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming for the Front Range Invite, October 4-5.
LEADING FROM THE FRONT
Head coach Rob Clayton enters his 27th season as the Academy's head men's swimming coach in 2024-25. Clayton has led the Falcons to a 214-116-2 overall dual record in his 26 seasons. He owns five Conference Coach of the Year awards (MWC 2007, 2010 & WAC 2015, 2016, 2020) and has won three WAC Championships (2015, 2016, 2020).
The men's swimming team appointed senior Tommy Nagle and junior James Winterfield as team captains for the 2024-25 campaign. Nagle is a three-time WAC Championship top five placer and currently holds two fourth-ranked Academy times in the record book (100 and 200 breast). Winterfield has two times in the all-time top 10; fifth in the 200 fly and 10th in the 200 free. Winterfield has finished top five at the WAC Championships five times.
LOOKING FORWARD
Next weekend, Air Force welcomes Nebraska-Omaha and Liberty University to USAFA for three-way action, October 11-12. Action on Friday is slated for 5 p.m., while swimming commences at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The Falcons will host five home meets highlighted by the Colorado Sprint Championships, February 1. The WAC Championships are slated for February 26 through March 1, in Houston, Texas.
WELCOME TO THE TEAM
Air Force welcomed six freshmen to the squad in Jack Brown (free/back), Emile Haig (fly), Alex Stewart (mid-distance/free), Cole Wilson (IM/breast), Tanner Wilson (breast/fly), and Evan Witte (IM/distance).
LAST SEASON IN A NUTSHELL
The Falcons ended the 2023-24 campaign with a 3-5 dual record, ending the year with a three-dual winning streak. At the 2024 WAC Championships, Air Force placed fifth among the six teams, garnering 456.00 team points. Featuring a young roster that progressed as the season continued, Air Force was responsible for three podium finishes at the 2024 WAC Championships, including Tommy Nagle's third-place standings in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, as well as Camden Swigart's bronze finish in the 400 IM.
