Kersten Advances To Singles Semifinals at MW Tennis Fall Qualifier

Air Force men's tennis completed day two competition at the Mountain West Tennis Fall Qualifier, Thursday at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Senior Arjun Kersten led the way by winning his quarterfinals singles match and advancing to the semifinals.
Kersten defeated Daniil Kakhniuk of New Mexico in three sets. Kersten won the first set 6-4, before Kakhniuk took the second set 6-2. The senior then won the third set 6-2. Kersten faces Youssef Kadiri of Nevada at 11 am PT tomorrow.
Junior Jack Brown and sophomore Alec Fritzinger also played a match in the consolation bracket. Brown fell to Lukas Velik of Boise State 6-3. 6-2. Fritzinger defeated Marc Kleber of San Diego State 6-4, 6-2.
"I was really proud of how the guys came out and competed today," assistant coach Nick Castro said. "It's not an easy environment for anyone. Being 100 degrees in Las Vegas, it becomes more mental and physical over time. The guys showed a lot of toughness today and pushing through the heat."
