Falcons Have Strong Showing During Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team closed out the home portion of its fall schedule this evening (Nov. 15), as 10 women and eight men stepped into the ring for nine hard-hitting bouts during another round of Friday Night Fights in the Cadet Gym Boxing Room.
Junior Elise Bell opened the night by earning a split decision victory over sophomore Katie Beavis in a 141-pound bout, while Malaika Ndifang added a victory to the Junior Class win column with a 180-pound decision over freshman Nebi Tsarni. The sophomore duo of Naomi Brabham and Samantha Villa collected wins, as they claimed decisions in the 123-pound (freshman Naomi Nunez) and 127-pound (sophomore Olivia Fess) bouts, respectively. Freshman Maya Lee rounded out the women's card with a 152-pound victory over senior Peyton Glenn.
On the men's side, freshman Mohammad Khaliq was named the team's "Dawg of the Week" after earned a decision over classmate Nathan Delarosa in a 159-pound contest. Sophomores Sam Banduah and Noah Gilley both captured wins on Friday, as Banduah decisioned freshman Ian Gartska at 156 pounds and Gilley d earned the victory in his 156-pound bout with freshman Niko Phelps. Junior Dominic Feliz rounded out the men's list of winners, as he claimed a 143-pound victory over freshman Davin McArty.
The Falcons will split for a pair of competitions next week to close out the fall campaign, as they bookend the weekend with the Sacramento State Invitational (Nov. 22) and Arthur Mercante Invitational (Nov. 25).
