RIVERSIDE – California Baptist outscored Air Force, 28-3, in Big 12 Conference action, Friday evening in Van Dyne Gym. The Falcons drop to 0-2 in Big 12 dual meet action.
Air Force's points were put up by EJ Beloncik who put on for the Falcons with an impressive comeback win against Daniel Manibog, finishing the match on nearfall points, 10-5.
Freshman 141-pounder Carter Nogle showed promise against No. 32 Elijah Griffin, giving up a narrow loss to the ranked wrestler despite leading for much of the match. Nogle scored big on a takedown in the first period and added nearfall points the second. Griffin escaped the Falcon, 11-10.
Heavyweights Antonio Ramos and Tristan Kemp left it on all on the mat, finishing at 2-1 in favor of the Lancer.
The Falcons take a short break in action before heading out to the Cleveland State Open, December 7. Action in Woodling Gymnasium is slated for a 9 am ET start. A second contingent of Falcons will head to Hays, Kansas, to compete at the Bob Smith Open, December 8.
