Lily Wytko earns gold at USA Winter Air Gun Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force freshman Lily Wytko earned the gold medal at the 2024 Winter Air Gun Championships, in the junior air rifle division, at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Wytko shot a 250.0 in the finals to finish as the top junior female. She reached the final with a 624.1 on the first day and a 628.0 on the second day for a total of 1252.1. Sophomore Megan Torrence also reached the finals in the junior rankings (ages 21 and under), shooting a 1247.5. Torrence placed eighth in the finals of an event that featured 159 shooters.

Wytko also reached the finals in the Open (all ages) competition and placed sixth against several international and collegiate shooters.

The Air Force rifle team returns to action at The Citadel, Jan. 18-19, in Charleston, S.C.
