U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo – Air Force Athletics, in collaboration with the Air Force Academy Foundation, has announced an extensive renovation plan and fundraising campaign for the current Falcon baseball stadium.
"This is a very exciting time for Air Force baseball," said Air Force Director of Athletics Nathan Pine. "The renovation of our baseball stadium was identified, early in my time here, as a top need for the athletics department and is critical to the continued and future success of the baseball program."
The baseball stadium renovation will create a first-class facility and home for Air Force baseball. A modern concourse will be constructed to surround Erdle Field with 600-plus chairback seats, permanent concessions, restrooms, and a new press box. The project will also see renovations to both dugouts, along with a new home clubhouse that will feature a locker room, nutrition station, and training room.
"Our cadets deserve the best and with the renovation of our baseball stadium our cadet-athletes will continue to learn the invaluable leadership traits "on the fields of friendly strife" that will propel them to become great Air Force officers and leaders of character," said Head Baseball Coach Mike Kazlausky.
The baseball stadium renovation was first made possible by the Erdle family's lead gift of $2.5 million in the fall of 2022. The baseball stadium renovation is estimated to cost $15 million and will be supported by athletic department funds and a combined fundraising effort between the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation and Air Force Academy Foundation.
