Air Force Men’s Tennis With 4-0 Sweep of Army at College MatchDay

Air Force men's tennis completed a dominant 4-0 win over Army West Point Saturday afternoon at College MatchDay at the USTA Campus Outdoor Tennis Courts in Orlando, Fla.

The Falcons took the doubles point with a big clinching win in the third and final doubles match and then went on to coast to a 3-0 advantage in singles.

After falling at No. 1 singles, the Falcons rallied back with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Arjun Kersten and Jack Brown won at No. 2 over Jake Huarte/Michael Rooney 6-3 to tie it up. Phillip Deaton and AJ Moore then won at No. 3 over Marcus Sebastian/Alan Ton in a tiebreaker 7-6 (9-7) to clinch the doubles point.

In singles, the Falcons won at No. 4, 5 and 3 to pull out the win.

Nick Vroman opened with a win at No. 4 singles for the first point. Vroman defeated Vishnu Bodavula in a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win. Jack Brown then made it 3-0 Falcons with a win at No. 5 over Marcus Sebastian in straight sets 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.

Moore then clinched the match for the Falcons with a win at No. 4 over Samuel Haikal in straight 7-5, 7-5 wins.

"I'm so proud of our fill team effortthis match," head coach Evan Urbina said. "We competed against a great team and played exceptional tennis to win another College MatchDay. I'm so grateful of fall of the support we received from parents, alumni and fans. And I'm excited for the confidence this win will build in our players as we continue in our Spring season."

Air Force returns to action next Friday, Feb. 23, hosting Abilene Christian.-
