Air Force Men’s Tennis Travels To Rice

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis travels to Rice University on Saturday, March 2. The Falcons take on the Owls at 11 am CT at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in Houston, Texas.

About the Falcons: Air Force is 4-5 on the season. The Falcons return seven letterwinners off the 2022-23 team, which went 12-11 on the season. The Falcons welcome three newcomers, including two freshmen. Air Force returns its top No. 1 singles players in All-MW singles and doubles selection in junior Arjun Kersten and senior and team captain Nick Vroman. In addition, the Falcons return sophomore Phillip Deaton, the 2023 Mountain West Freshman of the Year.
Last time out: Air Force split a pair of home matches last weekend. The Falcons defeated Abilene Christian 4-3 on Friday and fell 5-2 to Northern Arizona on Sunday.
Urbina takes over program: Evan Urbina enters his first season as the head coach for Air Force. Urbina helped build up the program the previous nine years as the assistant coach under Dan Oosterhous, who retired from coaching after the 2022-23 season.
About Rice: Rice is 6-6 on the season. The Owls lost 4-3 to #43 Old Dominion and 4-0 to #26 Middle Tennessee last Saturday.
