Griffith Earns Second-Straight Men’s Foil Title at MPSF Championship

Sophomore Jack Griffith capped a standout weekend by winning his second-consecutive individual title at the 2024 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Fencing Championship, held at LionTree Arena on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla, Calif. Griffith claimed his second-straight MPSF men's foil title.

The day before, Griffith won his second-straight NCAA West Regional Fencing Qualifier title. It is now back-to-back seasons of sweeping both the NCAA West Regional and MPSF men's foil titles for Griffith.

Air Force also had a pair of runner-ups in sophomore Omar Emara in men's epee and senior Josie Ratzlaff in women's epee.

The Falcons had third-place finishes from sophomore Melissa Kline in women's foil, freshman Christina Watrall in women's epee and James Jang in men's foil.

Air Force was also the runner-up in the team relay event, with Stanford taking the title.

In the coming days, the NCAA qualifiers will be announced for the Falcons. The NCAA Championships takes place March 21-24 in Columbus, Ohio.
