He Hits Bombs, Son
-Jay Thomason has begun his final season at Air Force with authority, leading all qualified Falcons in home runs (5), slugging pct. (.563), on-base pct. (.434), runs scored (25), hits (31), and total bases (55).
-With five home runs already this spring, Thomason now sits at 42 career home runs, 8 shy of tying Nic Ready for the program record in career homers (50).
-Thomason became only the fourth player in Air Force history to record 40+ career home runs, coincidentally doing so in his hometown of Auburn on March 6.
-His 11 multi-hit games leads the team.
Horns Out
-Jake Greiving has been as consistent a force for the Falcons as any player so far in 2024.
-Greiving is second on Air Force in batting average (.323), hits (32), home runs (4), total bases (50), slugging percentage (.505) and on-base percentage (.414).
-Greiving also leads all Falcons in RBIs (19).
-He is also currently tied for the team lead with five multi-RBI games, and is second behind Thomason with nine multi-hit games.
Here Comes the Chuckster
-Sophomore Charlie Jones has returned from injury to make an immediate splash.
-In his first 11 games, Jones is 14-37 (.385), reaching base in each of his last 10 games.
-Jones recorded his first-career three-hit game on March 20, going 3-4 with a home run.
-Though not qualified, Jones' .378 average and .452 OBP would lead Air Force hitters.
He's Getting Going
-Sam Kulasingam, the reigning two-time MW Player of the Year, is beginning to overcome his initial troubles at the plate.
-Hitting just .200 over his first 13 games, Kulasingam has raised his average to .260 through 26 games.
-More recently, Kulasingam is 11-32 (.343) in his past eight games.
-An on-base machine, Kulasingam has reached base in each of his last 22 games.
-Kulasingam has already been plunked eight times this season, most on Air Force and third-most in the Mountain West.
Chase, Chase, In Your Face
-Chase Spencer has been a table-setter for the Air Force lineup.
-His .276 average is third-best among Falcons, as are his 27 hits.
-His 16 stolen bases lead all Mountain West players.
CT Making it Look EZ
-Freshman Christian Taylor, playing in replacement of the injured Chris Stallings, has been a dependable asset.
-In his past 10 games, Taylor is 10-35 (.286), with at least one hit in nine of the last 10 games.
-Taylor has also produced eight RBIs in the last 10 games.
Born to Run
-Through 26 games, Air Force is 47-58 (81%) in stolen base tries this season.
-The Falcons 47 stolen bases is tops among Mountain West team.
