Women’s tennis bows out of Mountain West Tournament

LAS VEGAS – Air Force women's tennis, taking on six-seed Colorado State in the opening round of the 2024 Mountain West Women's Tennis Championships, fell 4-0 to the Rams on Wednesday afternoon to end the Falcons' dual campaign.
On line two in doubles, senior Isabella Flodin and junior Alexis Odom earned a 6-2 victory over Zara Lennon/Sarah Weekley to even the score after Air Force fell on line one, capping the season earning the duo's first career dual doubles win. The Falcons fell on courts one and three; Nadia Kojonroj and Arianna Van Houweling dropped a narrow, 6-4 decision on line one to Radka Buzkova/Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya. CSU's Luana Avelar/Logan Voeks clinched doubles on line three with a 6-2 victory over Joselyn Limbago/Giovanna Sanchirico.
In singles, the Falcons went down on lines two, one and six in order. Odom, facing CSU's Luana Avelar, fell 6-4 in the opening set and trailed 3-1 when the match was called off. Giovanna Sanchirico led in her second set, 3-2, against Sarka Richterova, who was 3-1 in her last four completed matches, when the Rams clinched to advance.
