
Women’s tennis goes down versus Nevada

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Wrapping on a two-match home stand, the Air Force women's tennis team went down, 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in the Cadet Gym.
Air Force ceded the doubles point to Nevada in another tight team affair, as the Falcons split 6-3 decisions with the Wolf Pack on lines one and three, as Arianna Van Houweling/Nadia Kojonroj led by as much as 4-1 on the way to a court-one win over Amahée Charrier/Anastasia Luneva and Giovanna Sanchirico/Joselyn Limbago fell likewise to Mia Miranda/Kennedy Robinson. With the point falling to court two, Isabella Flodin/Alexis Odom battled with 8-4 pair Léa Cakarevic/Anastasia Luneva, playing out to a 5-5 tie, but fell in the final two games to give Nevada a 1-0 advantage leading into singles.\
In singles play, the Falcons fell on courts four (Flodin), two (Kojonroj) and three (Odom) in order. Odom, on court three, won a tiebreak, 7-2, in her opening set over Nevada's Lou-Anne Guerbert, but fell 6-1 in the second and third. Van Houweling, taking on Charrier on line one, split the first two sets with her opponent, winning 7-5 in the first and falling to the same score in the second. The sophomore led 2-1 in the third when the match was called.
