Air Force's spring ends with 10-3 loss

Jay Thomason, in his final collegiate ballgame, did what he does best, as the senior launched the 21st home run of the year and the 58th of his illustrious career.
With 21 home runs this spring, Thomason ties his own single season home run record, a feat he shares with Mark Frankenberg.
Sam Kulasingam was 1-4 with an RBI groundout, while Aerik Joe brought home Zach Peters with a run-scoring double in the 5th. Peters was 1-3 with a double as well.
Chase Spencer, Charlie Jones, and Walker Zapp added hits as well. Spencer will carry a 26-game on-base streak and a 14-game hitting streak into his senior season.
Air Force managed just seven hits in the elimination game, striking out 15 times, the second-highest strikeout total by the Falcons this season.
On the pitching side, the Falcons sent out five different arms, as the Air Force staff was on the hook for 17 hits and 10 runs (nine earned). The Falcons pulled to within four runs in the 4th and 5th innings, though Fresno State managed at least one run in seven of their nine turns at the plate.
Air Force ends the 2024 season with a 27-28 mark, as the graduating C1C's conclude their collegiate careers with a record 113-110, the most prosperous four years since the Falcons joined the Mountain West Conference.
The group was largely responsible for bringing home the 2022 Mountain West Tournament title, sending the Falcons to their first NCAA Regional since 1969. Earlier this spring, the senior class helped Air Force to earn its first regular season Mountain West crown in program history.
