Morrell leads Falcons on first day of Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Junior Brooks Morrell led the Air Force golf team on the first day of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Eisenhower Golf Course. Morrell shot a season-best 73 (+1) and is in 18th place overall.
Senior Chris Park shot a 75 while sophomores Carson Baker and Eli Huntington and senior Cameron Kahle shot 76. CSU's Matthew Wilkinson shot a 65 (-7) to top the leader board.
As a team, Colorado State leads the field with a 286 (-2). Utah was second at 290 (+2) and San Jose State was third (291). Air Force sits in 12th place in the 22-team field with a 300 (+12).
In the individual event, CSU's Roy Williamson leads the field with a 64 (-8). Air Force's Alvaro Fonseca is seventh with a 72 (even). Eric Liveringhouse shot 73, followed by Ted Davenport (74), Grant Samuelson (77) and Jackson Scaletta (81).
The second round of the GMFI begins at 8:30 am on the Blue and 9:30 am on the Silver Course on Sunday, Sept. 22.
