Falcons Drop A Pair Sunday In Day Two Of Bruno Classic

Air Force men's water polo (2-2) dropped both games Sunday in day two action at the Bruno Classic, held at Katherine Moran Aquatics Center on the campus of Brown University in Providence, RI. The Falcons fell 17-10 to Wagner in the morning and dropped a 15-14 match in overtime to host #20 Brown in the afternoon game.

In the Wagner game, a scoreless third quarter allowed the Seahawks to pull away. The Falcons trailed 4-3 after the first quarter and 9-6 at the half. Wagner then out-scored Air Force 5-0 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Eight different Falcons scored in the game, with sophomore Tom Leggett and freshman Dante Nocetti leading the team with two goals each.

Against Brown, Air Force sent the game into overtime on a game-tying goal with two seconds left in regulation. Trailing for much of the game, and trailing by two in the fourth quarter, the Falcons scored three of the last four goals in regulation. Trailing 12-10, goals by Colin Chase and Leggett tied the game up at 12-12 with 1:42 to play.

Brown scored with 45 seconds left in the game to go back up one. Jack Richards then scored the game-tying goal to send it into overtime.

Air Force led early in OT on a goal by Leggett, but Brown would score the final two goals to rally.

Leggett scored six goals to lead the Falcons in game. It was his second six-goal game on the weekend and he tallied 17 overall. Chase, Richards and Jacob Yi added two goals each.

Air Force returns to action next weekend, Sept. 13-14, with four games at the Titan Invitational in Fullerton, Calif.
