U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team opened up the second half with a 4714-4553 win over The Citadel, Saturday, Jan. 18, in Charleston, S.C.
Senior Scott Rockett won the aggregate with a season-high score of 1181. The Falcons claimed the top six spots as Lily Wytko and Lauren Hurley were second (1180), Victoria Leppert was fourth (1173), William Steen was fifth (1171) and Bethany Butler was sixth (1169). Megan Torrence shot an 1164 and Caden Cavenaugh shot a career- best 1144.
Rockett posted the top smallbore score with a 587, followed by Wytko (585), Hurley (583), Steen (580) and Leppert (578).
Hurley won the air rifle with a 597, followed by Wytko and Leppert (595), Rockett and Butler (594) and Steen (career-high 591).
Air Force and The Citadel meet again on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 9 am ET, in Charleston, S.C.
