Second-ranked Alaska-Fairbanks defeats Air Force in rifle

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Alaska-Fairbanks, ranked second in the nation, defeated eighth-ranked Air Force, 4736-4718, in a dual meet, Saturday, Jan. 25, in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Air Force claimed two of the top five aggregate spots as senior Scott Rockett was third (1184) and freshman Lily Wytko was fifth (1180) and Lauren Hurley tied for sixth (1179).
Rockett won the smallbore with a season-best 591. Hurley was sixth with a 586 and Wytko was eighth with a 584.
In air rifle, the Nanooks took the first three spots. Wytko and Victoria Leppert tied for fourth with a 596. Hurley and Rockett each shot a 593.
Air Force and UAF meet again on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 9 am AT in Fairbanks.
