Fencing Completes Competition At January NAC

Air Force fencing completed competition at USA Fencing's January North American Cup, held Jan. 3-6, at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Five Falcons competed on the weekend. A trio of Falcons had Top-100 finishes, led by junior Mira Vestel in the Div. I women's saber. Vestel finished 33rd out of a field of 189, posting six total wins.

Joining Vestel with Top-100 finishes were fellow juniors Jack Griffith and Omar Emara. Griffith placed 42nd out of 267 competitors in the Div. I men's foil. Emara finished 69th out of a field of 287 in the Div. I men's epee.

Air Force had two competitors in Div. I men's saber. Sophomore Jackson Houtz placed 116th out of a field of 223. Junior Mack Luebbe placed 207th.

Air Force returns to action at the NU Duels Feb. 1-2 in Evanston, Ill.
