Air Force Clinches Winning Season With 15-10 Win Over Pomona-Pitzer At Fraser Memorial

Air Force men's water polo (17-12) defeated Pomona-Pitzer (13-12) 15-10 to cap a 2-1 weekend at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament Sunday at Sullivan Aquatic Center in Santa Clara, Calif. The win clinches a winning season for the Falcons for the third time in the last four seasons.
The 17 wins also ties for the second-most in the Ryan Brown era at Air Force.
Air Force played a consistent game throughout, scoring four goals in each of the first three quarter and three in the fourth. The Falcons led 4-3 after the first quarter and 8-6 at halftime. A 4-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter helped Air Force pull away with the 12-7 lead.
Tom Leggett led Air Force with five points on three goals and two assists. Jack Richards scored four points with two goals and two assists. Jake Dixon recorded a hat trick with three goals. Dante Nocetti added three assists. Blake Fuchslin chipped in with two assists.
Luca Smith had five saves and two assists for the win in goal.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Nov. 2 with a WCC game at home against San Jose State.
