Leggett Sets New Points Record But Air Force Falls To #6 San Jose State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's water polo (17-13, 0-4 WCC) fell to #6 San Jose State (10-6, 4-1 WCC), 14-9, in West Coast Conference action Sunday afternoon at the Cadet Natatorium. Junior Tom Leggett set a new school record for points with a team-leading five points.
Leggett now has 187 points on the season, which breaks his own school record of 183 set last season. Leggett currently leads the nation in both points and goals scored.
Jack Richards also scored four goals for the Falcons.
The game opened as a defensive battle with the score in San Jose State's advantage 2-1. The Spartans broke the game open with a 6-1 run in the second quarter to lead 8-2 at the half. The Falcons rallied to out-score SJSU 7-6 in the second half, including a 5-3 advantage in the fourth.
Luca Smith had 11 saves in goal for the Falcons. Jay Pyle relived Smith four the fourth quarter, recording three saves.
Air Force returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 8, for the regular season and home finale against Santa Clara.
