Women's Tennis Caps Day Two in Provo

PROVO, Utah – Freshman Yule Kang headlined Air Force Women's Tennis' day two showing at ITA regionals, advancing in main draw singles in search of an automatic bid into this year's NCAA Individual Championship.

Kang, the final Falcon representing the Academy in the main draw singles bracket, defeated Montana State's Terezie Stverakova in two sets, advancing to a Round of 32 match against eight seeded Louise Wikander (Denver). Kang's win improves the Falcon newcomer to 7-3 in open singles this fall.

Sophomore Sofia Mavor and freshman Yule Kang advanced in doubles competition, downing Boise State's Paula Schaefer and Tereza Polakova in a 7-2 tiebreak (8-7) before falling in the Round of 16 to BYU pair Grace Levelston/Kendall Kovick. The pair closes competition in Provo at 4-1 in fall doubles.

Both picking up extra matches while in Provo, freshman Alba Martinez and sophomore Shivaani Selvan notched wins on Wednesday, respectively defeating Denver's Cai Yunfei, 6-4, 7-5, and Colorado's Willow Gretsch, 6-0, 6-1.
