
Falcons place second at President’s Trophy

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team placed second at the annual President's Trophy competition, Saturday, Nov. 1, in Annapolis, Md. Navy won the President's Trophy with a team score of 5891. Air Force was second (5840) while Army was third (5827). Unlike most collegiate rifle tournaments, the President's Trophy scores the top five out of eight shooters.
Senior team captain Victoria Leppert led the Falcons with an aggregate score of 1172, placing fifth overall. Junior Megan Torrence was eighth overall at 1167 and freshman Prisha Thomas was ninth at 1166.
Freshman Lily Miller was the top Falcon, and fifth overall, in smallbore at 582. Leppert was ninth at 578.
In air rifle, Leppert was the top Falcon and fourth overall at 594. Torrence was seventh (592), Lily Wytko was eighth (592) and Thomas was ninth (591).
Air Force will compete in a dual meet against Army, Sunday, Nov. 2, in Fairfax, Va.
