Air Force Falls To Northern Colorado, 71-53

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball (3-5) fell to Northern Colorado (6-1),71-53, Wednesday afternoon at Clune Arena. Freshman Kam Sanders led the Falcons with 16 points.
After a closely contested first half, Northern Colorado utilized the three ball to pull away in the second half.
Air Force trailed 28-24 at the half, holding the UNC to 27 percent shooting from three. Northern Colorado then shot 60 percent from the field in the second half, making seven three's to pull away. The Falcons trailed by five with 10:33 to play, but were out-scored 17-5 the remainder of the game as the offense struggled to find buckets.
For the game, UNC shot 54 percent from the field, making 10 three's. Guard Quinn Decker scored a game-high 23 points and forward Brock Wisne added 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting down in the post.
Sanders scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half for the Falcons, adding five rebounds and two assists. Sanders did not committ a turnover in 32 minutes at the point. Junior center Wesley Celichowski added 10 points and four rebounds. Sophomore guard AJ Patterson had career-high's of eight points and six rebounds.
Air Force was held to 41 percent shooting from the field and struggled to find its outside shooting, connecting on just 18 percent of its shots from three-point range.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Nov. 29, taking on South Dakota in a neutral-site game at The Monument in Rapid City, SD.
