Allen named National Football Foundation, Colorado Chapter, Player of the Week

Air Force junior fullback Owen Allen was named National Football Foundation, Colorado Chapter, player of the week for his performance in Air Force's 42-21 win over Colorado State last week.

Allen rushed for 107 yards and a career-best two touchdowns on a career-high 25 carries. He scored his first touchdown on a six-yard run to put the Falcons in front, 14-0, in the first quarter. Allen was a key to a ball-control offense that had 147 total yards and held the ball for 12:29 in the first quarter, while keeping Colorado State to just six plays. His second touchdown provided the final points to make it 42-21 with 3:05 remaining. Allen went over the 1,000-yard mark for his career in the game, becoming the 64th Falcon to do so and 21st fullback. His 100-yard game was his team-best fifth of the season.

Allen is the first Falcon to earn the weekly honor this season. The award is the first of his career. Air Force finished the season 4-8 overall and placed eighth in the Mountain West with a 3-5 record.
