Falcons Set to Open 2025-26 Season at Wyoming Power Meet

The Air Force track and field team kicks off the 2025-26 campaign this Saturday (Dec. 6), when it travels to Laramie for the Wyoming Power Meet.

MEET INFORMATION
The Wyoming Power Meet will be held inside the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track and Field Venue at War Memorial Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 6. Action is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. [MT] and the lineup will include athletes from Air Force, Colorado State, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and Wyoming. A complete schedule of events is listed below. Live results will be provided by Rapid Results. Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official social media accounts [@af_tfxc].
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
11:00 a.m.: Men's Hammer Throw, followed by Women's Hammer Throw Men's Shot Put, Women's Shot Put; 11:00 a.m.: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 12:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, followed by Women's High Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 1:30 p.m.: 600-Yard Run, followed by 55-Meter Hurdles [prelim], 55-Meter Dash [prelim], 300-Meter Dash, 55-Meter Hurdles, 55-Meter Dash, 4x400-Meter Relay [women will compete first in all running events]

Texas Tanner [Sheridan] is the lone Air Force athlete to hail from the state of Wyoming.
GUESS WHO'S BACK
Air Force's 2025-26 roster includes one indoor All-American in senior Texas Tanner, who also holds Air Force – and All-Academy – Records in the shot put [63-7] and weight throw [76-11.75]. The women also return one indoor record holder – Brooke Coleman [60-meter dash: 7.68] and one member of the 4x400-meter relay that clocked a program-best time of 3:42.85 in 2024. Tanner [shot put 2023-25, weight throw 2024-25] is also one of three returning indoor all-conference performers for the Falcons – Liliane Aittama [800-meter run 2024], Dominykas Remeikis [mile run 2025] – while Fernstrom, Rachel Fereday, and Jace Martin have run on all-conference relay squads.
ROAD WARRIORS
Due to the on-going renovation of the Cadet Field House Indoor Track, the Falcons will spend the indoor season away from the Academy.
COLORADO CONNECTIONS
Eight Falcons hail from the state of Colorado, including one [Matthew Edwards] from nearby Monument. The squad's Centennial State roster also includes athletes from Breckenridge [Dominykas Remeikis, Josh Shriver], Cascade [Cody Kelley], Denver [Ryan Hajek], Glenwood Springs [Ella Johnson], Highlands Ranch [Jayden Nats], and Longmont [Ella Pears].
ON THE SIDELINES
Ryan Cole is in his fourth season as Air Force's Director of Track & Field and Cross Country and his 12th year overall as coach of the men's middle distance and distance runners, while Scott Steffan is in his fourth years as Head Coach of the track and field team and his 19th season overseeing the Falcons' vertical jumps program. Cole and Steffan, who also manages the multi-event athletes, will be joined by assistant coaches Laura Bowerman (women's middle distance, distance) and Kyle Lillie (throws).
