Air Force Boxing Set to Kick Off Wing Open Tournament

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – An exciting three-week span of Academy boxing begins tomorrow (Feb. 13) night, as Air Force kicks off the 68th Wing Open Tournament with quarterfinal competition. The Wing Open, which began with just four bouts in 1958, has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the cadet schedule.
2025 WING OPEN SCHEDULE
Thursday, Feb. 13: Opening Round | 4:30 p.m. | Cadet Gym
Friday, Feb. 21: Second Round | 4:30 p.m. | Cadet Gym
Friday, Feb. 28: Championship Round | 6:00 p.m. | Clune Arena
The tournament gets underway with seven bouts on Thursday afternoon. The card includes both sides of the bracket for the 156-pound (Jon Compton vs Noah Gilley, Nathan Delarosa vs Angel Alvarado) and 165-pound (Kevin Duong vs Robert Miller, Noah Kjos vs Kenny Dela Cruz) weight divisions, as well as single matchups at 119 pounds (Naomi Nunez vs Olivia Fess), 126 pounds (Freddy Ceciliano Jr. vs Alex Guild) and 195 pounds (Mason Hendricks vs Lucas Gaschk).
The champions of the Wing Open will form the nucleus of the Air Force squad that will represent the Academy at the upcoming National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) regional and national championship events. The Falcons will host the NCBA Western Regional at the Academy on March 6-8 -while the NCBA Championships will be held in Lawrenceburg, Ind., on April 10-12.
Admission is free for the first two rounds of the Wing Open Tournament, while tickets for the finals, which can be purchased at AFTickets.com, are $8 (military, groups of 10+), $10 (Zone 2) and $15 (Zone 1). The finals will also be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network.
