Hurley leads Falcons in dual at TCU

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Lauren Hurley led the eighth-ranked Air Force rifle team in a dual meet at No. 5 TCU, Thursday, Feb. 20, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Air Force opened the match by tying the second-best smallbore score in school history and matching the season high with a 2352. TCU won the meet by outscoring Air Force, 4730-4720.

Hurley finished second overall with an aggregate score of 1184. Junior Victoria Leppert was fourth in aggregate (1180) and sophomore William Steen was fifth with a career-high 1178.

Steen and Leppert tied for second in smallbore with a 590, each shooting a career high. Hurley was fourth at 589, followed by Scott Rockett (583), Bethany Butler (579), Megan Torrence (571) and Caden Cavanaugh (558).

In air rifle, Hurley led the Falcons and was fifth overall at 595, followed by Lily Wytko (593), Leppert (590), Rockett (589), Steen (588), Torrence (588), Butler (582) and Cavanaugh (564).

Air Force closes out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the NCAA Qualifier in Fort worth, Texas. The Falcons will then await the NCAA Selection Show, Monday, Feb. 24, to see if the Falcons reach the NCAA Championships.
