USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 77-55 contest to Colorado State (19-9, 12-4 MW) in Mountain West play Tuesday night at Clune Arena. Senior Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 13 points.
Colorado State turned a two-point halftime game into a double-digit win by out-scoring the Falcons 49-29 in the second half. Air Force commited 19 turnovers, which led to 21 CSU points.
Air Force played Colorado State close in the first half, as the Rams led by just two at 28-26. The Falcons held the Rams to 39 percent shooting from the field and 20 percent from three.
Colorado State shot 62 percent from the field and 60 percent from three in the second half.
Taylor paced the Falcons with 13 points. Taylor made his 84th three of the season and 47th three in MW play. The 84 three's is second most in a season at the Academy. Is 47 three's in MW play is a new program record for a MW season.
Sophomore Caleb Walker added 11 points and tied a career-high with seven rebounds. Sophomore Luke Kearney scored nine points and tied a career-high with three assists and also set a career-high with three steals.
Freshman Eli Robinson, from nearby Lewis-Palmer High School, made his collegiate debut for the Falcons.
Kyan Evans scored 20 points to lead CSU. Jalen Lake added 15 points.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, March 1, at New Mexico. The game tips at noon MT (***updated from original 2 pm start***) from the Pit and will be streamed on the MWN.
