Falcons are in fourth after first day of PRC Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team, ranked eighth in the nation, is in second place after the first day of the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships, Saturday, Feb. 8, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
In smallbore, Air Force shot a 2337. Alaska, ranked second in the nation, leads the field with a smallbore score of 2367. No. 8 Ole Miss is second (2364), No. 5 TCU is third (2345), No. 10 Nebraska is fifth (2330), No. 12 Ohio State is sixth (2328) and No. 16 UTEP is seventh (2307).
Senior Scott Rockett led the Falcons with a 587. Sophomore William Steen shot a career-best 585, followed by Lauren Hurley (584), Victoria Leppert (581), Megan Torrence (579), Lily Wytko (571) and Rushil Punukollu (569).
The PRC Championships wrap up on Sunday, Feb. 9, with the air rifle competition beginning at 9 am ET in Fort Wayne, Ind.
