U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Lauren Hurley and freshman Lilian Wytko each earned All-America honors from the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association. Hurley earned second-team honors in both air rifle and smallbore and honorable mention honors aggregate. Wytko earned second-team in air rifle.
For the second straight season, Hurley earned All-America honors in all three disciplines. At the NCAA Championships, she shot a 597 to reach the air rifle finals and then finished eighth in the individual championship event. She shot a then-season-high 598 in air rifle to lead Air Force to its 11th straight President's Trophy with wins over Army and Navy. The next day, the team co-captain shot a new season-high 599, just one off of a perfect score, to lead Air Force to a dual meet win over Army to complete a perfect weekend over the service academies. In a pair of season-opening victories, she shot a 592 in smallbore and 1188 in aggregate. The 592 in smallbore ties as the third-best in school history and just one off of the school record. The 1188 aggregate is also the third-best in school history and just two points off of the school record. Hurley has earned eight All-America honors in her career.
Wytko earned second-team CRCA All-America honors in air rifle. Her season high of 588 in smallbore ties as the 15th best score in school history. She shot a career-best 598 in air rifle at the President's Trophy to help lead Air Force to its 11th straight title with wins over Army and Navy. Her career high aggregate score of 1185 ties as the 17th best in school history. At the 2024 Winter Air Gun Championships, she earned a gold medal in the junior air rifle division, at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
