U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team sits in 10th place after the first round of the El Macero Classic in El Macero, Calif.
Air Force started on the back side and was at three-under as a team at the turn. The front side played tougher as Air Force ended the first round at 295 (+7).
Junior Brooks Morrell led the Falcons with an even par 72, making two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 15th. Sophomore Eli Huntington finished at 73 (+1) making three birdies on his first six holes. Junior Ted Davenport shot 74 (+2) with three birdies. Senior Cameron Kahle shot 76 (+4), making five birdies, three on the back side. Sophomore Carson Baker shot 78.
UC San Diego leads the 17-team field with a 281 (-7) while the University of San Diego is second (282) and Pacific and St. Mary's are tied for third (283).
