
Air Force Fencing Lands Three On CSC Academic All-District Team

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force fencing had three cadet-athletes earn 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Recent graduate Tati Kong and rising seniors William Barber and Mira Vestel earned CSC Academic All-District honors. It was the second-career CSC recognition for Vestel.
Kong competed for the Falcons in the foil weapon, appearing in 37 bouts. Kong also earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic.
Barber competed in the men's saber weapon, recording 25 wins on the season. Barber was an MPSF Bronze medalist in men's saber, earning All-MPSF second team honors. Barber also earned MPSF All-Academic.
Vestel, who competes in women's saber, ranked second on the team with 46 wins. Vestel was an MPSF Silver medalist in women's saber, earning All-MPSF second team honors. Vestel also earned MPSF All-Academic.
To be considered for CSC All-Academic, the student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. The athletes must also meet a competition/games played threshold for eligibility, specific to each sport.
