HOW THEY GOT THERE
Texas Tanner advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after claiming top-12 finishes in the hammer throw (third) and discus throw (eighth) at the West Prelim on May 28-31. As the multis are not contested at the two preliminary sites, Brayden Richards earned a direct bid into the national meet by ranking among the nation's top 24 in the decathlon (19th) during the regular season.
FALCONS IN THE FIELD
Texas Tanner is ranked fourth among the national finalists in the hammer throw following his mark of 70.32 meters at the NCAA West Prelim. The junior is also listed 11th in the discus field after posting a third-attempt distance of 59.49 meters at that meet, while Brayden Richards is ranked 19th in the decathlon lineup after accounting for 7659 points at the Bryan Clay Multis in mid-April.
