Air Force Head Coach Troy Calhoun, along with senior fullback Dylan Carson and junior linebacker Blake Fletcher talked with members of the local media to discuss the preseason. Air Force opens the 2025 season vs. Bucknell on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 1:30 p.m. in Falcon Stadium.
Air Force closed 2024 with a four-game winning streak with victories over Fresno State and Oregon State at home and road wins over Nevada and San Diego State. The four-game streak is the best in the Mountain West and fourth best nationally.
AIR FORCE EIGHTH NATIONALLY IN APR
Air Force had a 992 in the latest NCAA four-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.
The score is the best in the Mountain West and ranks eighth nationally. This is the program's 13th straight year in the top 10. Air Force led the nation in 2019 with a 997 and was second in 2018 with a 993.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship (recruited and on varsity roster for non-scholarship schools). The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
AIR FORCE HAS PERFECT GSR SCORE
Football was one of 14 Air Force programs recognized by the NCAA for Graduation Success Rates of 95 or higher. Six programs, football, men's gymnastics, men's and women's rifle, women's basketball, women's gymnastics and women's tennis, had perfect 100 percent rates.
All colleges and universities are required by NCAA legislation and federal law (the Student-Right-to-Know act from 1990) to report student graduation rates, and those institutions offering athletics aid are required to report for their student-athlete as well. The NCAA acquires student-athlete graduation data from the Department of Education's Integrated Post-Secondary Data System Graduation Rate Survey (IPEDS-GSR).
