Air Force Drops Game to Concordia (Irvine) in Day Two at Titan Invite

Air Force men's water polo dropped a tough 15-14 game to Concordia (Irvine) in day two of the Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational on Saturday at the Fullerton Aquatics Center in Fullerton, Calif.
In a tight game that saw the score stay within one goal until the fourth quarter, it was CUI that was able to pull away late. Air Force led 10-9 after a Tom Leggett goal at the 2:05 mark in the third quarter. Concordia then proceeded to out-score the Falcons 6-4 to close out the game.
Concordia went up two goals with 1:45 to play. Air Force got it one goal on a score by Gavin Honken at the 1:25 mark. The Falcons have several opportunities to tie, but could not find the back of the net for the equalizer.
Leggett and fellow junior Jack Richards led the Falcons with seven points each. Richards tallied five goals and Leggett four. Junior Owen Imasaki added four points with a goal and three assists. Senior Jackson Carter and sophomore Dante Nochetti chipped-in with two points each.
Senior Luca Smith had 10 saves and one steal in goal.
Air Force returns to day action Thursday, Sept. 18, at Navy.
