Falcons Fall in Road Debut at SMU

DALLAS - Air Force Women's Tennis dropped its first dual match of the season, falling 6-1 at the SMU Mustangs' Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas on Friday afternoon.
Air Force dropped the doubles point on courts one and two. Abby Cotuna/Maya Michalski, who finished fall competition 2-2 as a duo, fell, 6-1 to Mustang pair Ellie Mireles/Caroline McGinley. Freshman Yule Kang and sophomore Sofia Mavor went down 6-0 at the hands of Addison Comiskey/Eliana Kook on line two.
Junior Nadia Kojonroj and sophomore Shivaani Selvan, taking on SMU's Natalie Stasny/Sophie Llewellyn on court three, trailed 5-2 on court three when the doubles point was secured by the Mustangs.
In singles at the six slot, freshman Yule Kang picked up Air Force's lone point of the day and her first dual singles victory as a Falcon. Kang, who closed out her fall singles debut at 7-4 and opened 2025-26 with six straight wins, made quick work of SMU's Kook on line five, scoring a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
Air Force fell on courts five (Selvan vs. Comiskey, 6-1, 6-0), one (Cotuna vs. No. 46 Sophie Llewellyn, 6-1, 6-1), three (Kojonroj vs. McGinley, 6-1, 6-1), four (Michalski vs. Stasney, 6-3, 6-1) and two (Mavor vs. No. 106 Mireles, 6-3, 6-4) in order.
