COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., - Air Force women's soccer (11-4-1, 6-2-0 MW) reclaimed the City for Champions Cup trophy with a 1-0 win over Colorado College (8-5-4, 6-1-0 MW) on Wednesday night at Weidner Field.
The Falcons handed the Tigers their first Mountain West loss of the season, claimed the C4C Cup for the first time since the event's inception in 2022 and earned just their fifth all-time win over Colorado College. Additionally, Air Force tied their second-most wins in a season with 11.
"I am really proud of our group for bringing home the Cup and three important points tonight," said head coach Laura Busby.
As she did in 2025, Annika Jost accounted for Air Force's lone goal against Colorado College, converting a penalty kick for her third goal of the season. Chase Borntreger, Addie Doyle, Kendall Rippley and Ashley Yenawine each recorded one shot.
Sydney Nelms anchored the Falcons defensively, recording six saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.
Air Force struck early in the second minute when Jost successfully converted a penalty kick, sending the ball to the far right corner and out of reach of the Tigers' goalkeeper. Rippley recorded the Falcons' only other shot of the first half, while Nelms tallied three saves to preserve the lead.
"I thought we defended really well against a tough opponent," Busby mentioned.
After halftime, the Falcons controlled more possession and took three shots but were unable to add to their lead with a shot on goal. Air Force's backline remained composed under pressure, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard to secure the shutout and the C4C Cup.
"We are still chasing a top-four qualification, so we will recover and get ready for Wyoming," Busby said.
Air Force heads to Laramie, Wyo., to face Wyoming on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. MT.
