Air Force Fencing Tallies 13 Team Wins At Schiller Duals

Air Force fencing combined for 13 team wins at the 2026 Schiller Duals, held Sat.-Sun., Jan. 31-Feb. 1 by Northwestern University at Ryan Fieldhouse in Evanston, Ill.
The men's team (16-9) finished 7-1 on the weekend, a significant improvement from its 4-7 showing at the duals last year. Its lone loss came to #1 ranked Notre Dame. The women's team went 6-3 on the weekend, tallying three wins each day.
On day one, the men's team defeated Wheaton 22-5, Lawrence 22-5, Detroit Mercy 25-2 and MPSF rival Incarnate Word 16-11. The lone setback came by just three points to Notre Dame, 15-12. On day two, the Falcons swept the competition, defeating Cleveland State 24-3, Lawrence 23-4 and Wayne State 16-11.
On the women's side, the Falcons (11-15) opened Saturday with wins over Wheaton 23-1 and Detroit Mercy 20-7. The Falcons then fell to #14 Temple 14-13, before defeating UIW 18-8. They capped the day with a 19-8 loss to #2 Notre Dame. On day two, the Falcons defeated Cleveland State 19-7, Fairleigh Dickinson 14-11 and Lawrence 21-6. The Falcons then fell to Wayne State 12-15.
The men's team had nine fencers rack up double-digit win totals. Senior Jack Griffith led the dominant foil group with a perfect 24-0 and run. Freshman Richard Li also fared well in foil, going 21-3. Freshman Sean Oh also racked up 17 wins in foil.
Senior Omar Emara led a strong epee group with 18 wins. Freshmen Kaiden Choi and Byung Kim tallied 15 wins each in epee. Freshman Griffin May led the saber group with 14 wins.
On the women's side, seven fencers reached double-digit wins. Senior Melissa Kline led a dominant foil group by going 17-2. Freshman Marisa Green also posted a perfect 12-0 record in foil.
In saber, sophomore Priscilla Yao led the group with 13 wins. In epee, sophomore Keira Lonadier led the group with 12 wins. Air Force also had 10 wins from Kailyn Choi in foil, Svetlanna Mandap in epee and Mira Vestel in saber.
Air Force returns to action with a pair of events next weekend. The women's team competes at the Beguinet Classic in Durham, NC, Saturday, followed by the men's team at the Miller Invitational in Chapel Hill, NC, Sunday.
