Women's Swim and Dive Completes Second Day of MW Championships, Gregory Places Fifth on 3-Meter

HOUSTON, TX., - The Falcons capped off day two of the Mountain West Conference Championships on Thursday evening at CRWC Natatorium. Air Force saw Lexi Gregory and Lily Larson record top ten final finishes, along with five other top-20 placements.
"We had another amazing day in the pool," said head coach Colleen Murphy. "Lily and Lexi did a great job making finals in their events. This is a very close meet between all the teams and our women are stepping up to the challenge."
Diver Gregory placed the highest for the Falcons in an event, thus far into the championship meet. With her score of 319.40, the freshman secured a fifth-place finish on the 3-meter springboard. Lulu Semakula (286.65) and Kacey Hu (274.95) followed in ninth and 11th place.
Larson placed the highest for the Falcons on the swim side. In the 200 free finals, the sophomore placed sixth overall, clocking a finals time of 1:47.72. In the preliminary round, she touched the wall at 1:47.27 to replace her second all-time Academy swim. Sadie Hartig earned a 15th place finish with a time of 1:49.73, after she recorded the fourth fastest time in Air Force history (1:48.33) in prelims. Hannah Seal (1:50.25) and Brynn Bond (1:50.51) placed 19th and 20th, respectively.
In the preliminary round of the 100 fly, Brynn Bond swam Air Force's fastest time of the meet at 55.33 for 29th.
Elizabeth Sistrunk took the 15th spot overall in the 400 IM at 4:24.80, after she swam a 4:23.14 in the preliminary round, while Abby Miller went for 4:24.03 for 19th place.
The Falcons return to CRWC Natatorium for day three of the MW Championships on Friday Feb. 20. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. CT and finals at 6 p.m. CT.
