Falcon Wrestling Set Back at No. 25 Wyoming, 36-9

LARAMIE, WY – Air Force battled tough in the 36-9 loss to Big 12 rival No. 25 Wyoming, Friday evening at the UniWyo Sports Complex. The Falcons, now 4-6 in dual meets (0-5 Big 12), posted bonus points in their two wins. Wyoming, brandishing six nationally ranked wrestlers, improved to 5-5 overall with a 4-1 mark in Big 12 dual meets.

Falcon team captain Tucker Owens (125) and freshman standout Karson Tompkins (197) had their hands raised in the cordially hostile gym.

Owens, notching his 17^th win this season, went big with a seven-point score against Sefton Douglas in the first period. Owens from the top position in period two, turned Douglas at will, scoring 11 nearfall points to secure the decisive 18-1 technical fall. Owens is now 7-2 in dual action.

C4C Tompkins, the 30^th ranked wrestler in the 197 division, met with Brett Mcintosh in lieu of All-American Joey Novak. Tompkins dominated his way to an 11-1 major decision at the final whistle. The standout freshman is 5-2 in dual action and has 14 wins on the season.

Air Force 141-pounder Carter Nogle's winning streak came to an end against David Saenz. Nogle, with no shortage of effort, found himself in compromised positions that ultimately landed him too far behind to make good on the match.

Wyoming picked up bonus points in six bouts.

Air Force closes out the 2025-26 campaign with a three-meet home stint. Utah Valley comes to the historic Clune Arena on February 13, followed by California Baptist on February 15, and Northern Colorado for Senior Day on February 22. Action against the Wolverines is slated for 7 p.m. MT on Friday.

Youth Wrestling Day for Young Falcons
Air Force is proud to host a free youth clinic (K-8) prior to the February 15 Big 12 dual against California Baptist. Aspiring young athletes can join the Band of Birds in the wrestling room starting at 10:30 a.m. Clinic check-in beings at 10:15 while the clinic concludes at 11:30 a.m. The Falcon youths are encouraged to stay after the dual for an autograph signing.
