Air Force Fencing Sweeps MPSF Fencer Of Week Honors For Second Straight Week

Air Force fencing swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Fencer of the Week honors for competition during the week for Feb. 2-8, announced today by the conference office. Senior Jack Griffith earned Men's Fencer of the Week and sophomore Keira Lonadier earned Women's Fencer of the Week. This is the fourth-career weekly honor for Griffith and the first for Lonadier.
Griffith posted a 12-3 record in men's foil at the Beguinet Classic in Durham, N.C. on Feb. 7. The senior had a winning record against all five opponents faced, including 3-0 runs against #8 Duke and #9 Penn State. Griffith was part of Air Force's 15-12 win over Penn State, the sixth ranked opponent the team has defeated this season.
Lonadier led the women's team with nine wins in women's epee at The Miller Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Feb. 8. The sophomore had winning records against NYU, Johns Hopkins and a 3-0 record against #14 Temple. She also picked up wins against #5 Duke and #15 North Carolina.
It was the second-straight week of earning MPSF weekly honors for Griffith and the second-straight week of sweeping the conference FOW honors.
Air Force returns to action this weekend, Feb. 13-16, at the February NAC in Cincinnati, Ohio.
