
Elmore and Hanoian Earn Mountain West Weekly Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., - The Falcons earn their first pair of Mountain West weekly awards for Luke Elmore and Wyatt Hanoian following the sweep of UNLV, as announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon.
Luke Elmore was named the MW Player of the Week for his strong efforts at the plate. The junior led the Falcons with a series batting average of .571, including eight hits, 10 RBIs, and a pair of stolen bases. In game two, the Panama City, Fla., native played a critical role, as he was the star of the 18-16 walk off win. In the bottom of the ninth, down by one run with a pair of outs, Elmore came to the plate and launched his second homer of the season deep over the right field wall to seal the series. He recorded a career-high five RBIs in that game.
Wyatt Hanoian earned the first MW award of his career, as Freshman of the Week. The infielder batted logged four hits with his first career triple and home run while batting in seven runs for a series batting average of .364 and a slugging percentage of .818. In the game one run-rule, Hanoian scored a career-high three runs and batted in a trio of runs. The game two walk off saw the Costa Mesa, Calif., native mark an RBI single to reach base in the bottom of the ninth in time Elmore to homer for the win.
