COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., - For the second straight week, Garrett Hutchins has been named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, earning his second individual honor and contributing to the Falcons' six conference awards this season.
Serving as the designated hitter, Hutchins played a key role in Air Force's series win over New Mexico, helping the Falcons become the first team to clinch a spot in the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Allen, Texas native hit .333 on the week, tallying four hits, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
The freshman slugger delivered his biggest moment in the finale at New Mexico, launching a grand slam and adding a double to cap a four-RBI performance, highlighting a dominant week at the plate.
